How a Creative Took Captivity Captive With His Clothing Line
What the Enemy Tried to Cancel, God Called Purpose
Dear Builder,
They thought it was just a failed fashion brand, but behind the silence was a war no one saw. Spiritual Chains like horns, physical sabotage, spiritual oppression, mental false programming.
But what came next?
would blow your mind away.
“They shut the shop down.”
That’s all he said,
but I knew it wasn’t just a business loss. It was a spiritual war. He wasn’t just building a brand. He was a young creative, a Kingdom-minded fashion entrepreneur breathing life into fabric. Every design was prayed over. Every launch and campaign carried purpose.
And now… canceled.
Not by market failure.
But by targeted sabotage.
Let’s call him Paul. I was opportune to work with Paul when God decided that it was time to bring the horns down. The enemy had terrorized Paul and God said
Zechariah 1:15 (NIV):
“but I am very angry with the nations that feel secure. I was only a little angry, but they went too far with the punishment.”
Paul told me later,
“For a second, I really thought about deleting everything. Maybe they were right. Bro I am tired.”
Have you had a moment like that, where you knew something was stolen from you on purpose? The enemy had gone too far. Something needed to be done. So I stepped in, as God permitted me, ready to be a vessel of restoration
I didn’t rush to encourage. I sat with Paul’s pain, knowing that sometimes silence is where God begins to speak.
I was able to show Paul new pathways to try out. New ideas yet to be explored. New ways of doing things and getting results. Meanwhile something was being stirred deep within Paul. When he realized all of these could have only come from God. A hunger for God was birthed.
Paul made his way to the secret place. He spent a bit of time there trying to understand more. And you can trust our father to fill up that hunger. In that secret place, God started giving him downloads. Clarity. Strategy. Blueprints and guidance.
Paul messaged me one night, lit up with vision:
“Bro what if I flipped the narrative? What if the very thing they tried to destroy me with became my next collection?”
Each piece told a story:
The invisible chains turned into crown.
Loss turned to legacy.
This wasn’t just clothes.
This was warfare turned wearable.
On the launch day? Everything Sold out.
The same people who doubted started reposting his work.
A viral reel.
A collab offer.
And then, God opened a door for him to mentor other young designers coming out of hard places.
This wasn’t bounce-back.
This was divine reintroduction.
I told Paul, “You realize you didn’t just survive the shutdown, you made it your story. You didn’t just escape the trap. You flipped it into a testimony.”
That’s what happens when you take captivity captive.
That’s what Jesus did and it’s still the blueprint.
If you’ve ever had your dream sabotaged…
If they tried to bury you before the bloom…
If the shutdown made you question the vision…
Don’t delete it.
Don’t disown it.
Let God flip it.Make your way to the secret place, in praise and thanksgiving and tongues
Declare to yourself “I’m coming out the grave”
