Built to Be Bold: Why Failure Can’t Cancel Your Calling
Ditch the fear. Pick up your power. MOVE!!!!
Dear Builder,
I remember the first time I launched something I truly felt strongly about, only to watch it flop. Fear crept in fast.
“Maybe I missed God’s direction.”
“Maybe I’m not cut out for this.”
These were the thoughts I was trying to process at the time.
Have you ever felt that way?
A few months into that same venture, someone said to me, “This business? I don’t know if this is the one. But the next business you do? That will be successful.”
I’m still not sure if it was prophetic or just kind encouragement. But a few years later, I ended up selling off all the assets and closing the chapter. It took me a while before I found the boldness to open the next chapter.
Let me keep it real with you, FEAR IS LOUD!!
It tells you not to try something new…Not to post that idea. Not to launch that offer because
“What if I fail?”
“What will people say about me?”
“What if I mess it all up?”
But here’s what God says:
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7
That means if fear is the loudest voice in your head, it’s not God speaking.
Mistakes Are Part of Mastery
I once mentored a young woman named Tobi who had a powerful idea for a God-first design studio. She was creative, anointed, and had a clear niche, but she stayed stuck.
Why? Fear of failure.
Fear of being seen.
Fear of not living up to the “Christian entrepreneur” image she thought she had to maintain.
Eventually, she made a mindset shift:
“I don’t fear failure. I trust the process and the God who called me.”
She launched. She stumbled. One client didn’t pay. A project flopped. But she didn’t stop. Now she’s booked out in advance and inspiring others on how to boldly build businesses that reflect their faith.
Tobi said something I’ll never forget:
“I can’t break what God has called me to build.”
That’s not arrogance. That’s boldness rooted in obedience.
You’re Not Fragile, You’re Favored
We need to stop acting like one failure voids our calling.
Boldness isn’t ego. Boldness is saying:
“Even if I don’t get it right every time, I’m not quitting.”
Think about Peter. He literally sank in the middle of his bold step. Jesus didn’t shame him, He saved him.
He still built the Church on him. Failure didn’t cancel Peter’s calling, and it won’t cancel yours.
Sometimes, the thing we’re scared of ”failure” is just part of the road to becoming unshakable.
If God gave you the idea, He already factored in your learning curve. He’s not asking for perfection. He’s asking for courage and boldness. So remember to approach him to collect your daily dose of courage and boldness.
👉 What would you start this week if fear wasn’t in the driver’s seat?
Reflect on that.
I want to pray with you and speak boldness over your journey.
Our Father in heaven,
I lift up this reader to You right now. You know the dreams You’ve planted in their heart, and You’ve already equipped them with everything they need to begin. I speak boldness over their journey, boldness to start, to stumble, to rise, and to keep moving forward in faith. Silence every lie of fear and fill them with power, love, and a sound mind. Let courage rise and clarity flow. Let them know that with You, failure isn’t final, it’s forming them for impact.
In Jesus name, Amen.
Now ditch the fear. Pick up your power. And MOVE!!!!
P.S. I teach this kind of mindset + movement combo every week to paid subscribers. If you’re tired of fear running the show, come learn how to lead with faith instead.
